The world ends and begins with Winter

Flynn Rogers fell in love with the actor Winter Mitchell when she was twelve and he played the 500-year-old vampire on her favorite television series. She fell in love with the man Winter Mitchell when she was twenty-one and she was hired by his fiancée to plan her son's birthday. But in the land of Make Believe things are very rarely how they appear and Flynn is going to discover that the man beneath the mask is worth selling her soul.

Winter Mitchell is living a carefully constructed illusion, a role he assumed when he had been lost amongst the wolves. Even though the world believes he's engaged to the beautiful Melissa Irish, nothing could be further from the truth. He is content living the lie until Flynn Rogers crashes into his life and she is unlike anyone he has ever known. She has no filter between her thoughts and her tongue, she's cautious yet wildly inquisitive, and he pursues her with single-minded determination, reclaiming pieces of himself that he had lost along the way.

Secrets and Passion bind them together
Lust and Deception pull them apart
And Love… Love rules their hearts.

***For mature audiences only 18+ contains, strong language and mild to medium kink, more extreme than some will be comfortable with (including some back door action), pretty vanilla to those who are into hard core BDSM, but just perfect for those who fall in love with Winter.

This is a full length novel of 116,000 words.

Winter's Heart is the blazing romance that will melt your kindle and set your sheets on fire.

I thought this book was quite marvelous. I enjoyed the characters, loved Flynn, fell in love with Winter and enjoyed the secondary characters. It was sweet how Winter took time to chase and pursue Flynn and I loved how Flynn just fell head over heels and dove right int her all consuming love for Winter. What I didn't like was that the fall out was sooooo excruciating, intimate things were released, lives completely upended and all the perpetrator gets is a small mention in the epilogue about having to come clean? Nope, sorry, she did insane damage, damage that could have left permanent scars if the characters weren't so bloody forgiving...that's another thing, I love both the hero and heroine, but heck, I would not be so forgiving! It's ridiculous to think that lives could be broken and hearts shattered (even if they came back together) and it is all pushed away with a "I feel sorry for her." Again, the book hinted very strongly that the puppeteer would eventually make a move, with it being hinted al throughout the book you would hope that the karma she got was A LOT more than a two line mention. Thus isn't a poor sad woman we're talking about, this is a woman who orchestrated most of her life and had no qualms destroying others in the process. Her evil nature should have been brought to light, not pushed under the rug as a "lesson to learn about Hollywood." But for those issues I thought Winter's Heart filled the Hollywood romance Trope very well. It was quite satisfying, up until the end.

Winter,. that boy just oozes sex, "trust me," he grinned, his dimples winking at her as if they were sentient. Okay, now she was just being daft. "It is." He's outspoken, "I think you are prettier than you could possibly imagine," he said, leaning back in his chair and looking at her with a solemn expression." And Flynn good lord that girl just doesn't have a damn filter, "well, you just told me Melissa had sex with a turkey baster," she said, resting her butt against the edge of the desk since her knees were now made of gelatin. "I think if I chose you to be the father or my child I would make sure i was on the pill for the first five years before I actually tried to get pregnant just so I would have that much more time to, um, get to know you." He speaks his mind on what he wants, "not when I know what I want." He gave her a wolfish leer that melted her brain. "And I want you." And he is not shy about letting his girl know how his body parts might react, "I am so effing horny I just want to blow off the party and eff you all night long."
Shows me. I bought the book as a part of a book club, and the cover didn't thrill me as much as others have, but hot damn, I loved this book. A contemporary love story, with some really hot sex scenes. Hmm, so if that isn't your thing, you probably won't like it as much.

Flynn works for a party planning / event coordination company. As luck would have it, she gets tasked with planning a birthday party for movie stars Melissa Irish and Winter Mitchell son, Storm. Flynn has always had a crush on Winter so meeting him and learning his relationship with Melissa is not what it seems, and that he has an interest in her is shocking. The only catch? In the world's eyes, he and Melissa are engaged. Melissa has a plan for an amicable split, but that will take 6 months so Winter and Flynn will need to be discreet if they want to have a relationship.

As can be expected, things just aren't that simple. I loved the author's writing style. Outside of a few grammatical errors, the story flowed smoothly and the interactions between the characters was very believeable. Yes, it almost seems too good to be true that a movie star would fall for the girl next door type, but hell, the stuff that happens to that poor girl at the end was almost too cruel too. There is definitely a bit of kink in here. A good portion of their story was very sexual, and explicit. Some will like it, and some will find it too much. Would I recommend the book, yes, but not to anyone under the age of 18.
SPOILERS I started off really liking this book but somewhere around the 50-60% mark it started losing its steam and it never recovered for me. The sex scenes were really hot and graphic but after a while they became excessive and repetitive. There were also too many things that I would have liked to have seen tied up or cleared up. For one, I would have liked to have seen Melissa receive her karma. The announcement of the discovery of her deception on a news station just wasn't enough for me. Winter's loyalty to Melissa, even after her deception, was an enigma. He explains his loyalty to Flynn early in the book but it just didn't jibe with me. The story became too predictable at one point also. There was no doubt what was going to happen when Flynn created her "Winter Files" on her tablet and when Winter made the sex tapes of themselves and who the guilty party was. In the end, my favorite characters wound up being Fallon and Harry. They seemed to be normal people b/c as Flynn said it early in the story Winter and Mellisa were "f*&%ed up".

* If readers are opposed to or offended by anal sex, oral sex, exhibitionism, and kink then you might want to skip this one.
